Along with manufacturing sites at Hams Hill and Swindon, the Mini Plant Oxford forms part of BMW Group’s production triangle in the UK. Oxford remains the largest of the three sites and employs over 4500 people.
The plant is based in Cowley and stands on a site that has seen car production in Oxford for over 100 years. Since Mini began production in 2001, more than 2.5 million cars have been made at the site and it is a familiar site on the roads in and around Oxfordshire, but its appeal is truly global and the Mini is now sold in 110 countries worldwide.
Situated just three miles east of Oxford’s city centre, finding the Mini Plant is easy. It is close to local shops and amenities including Cowley Retail Park and the Oxford Business Park and well serviced by local bus routes or accessed via the Eastern Bypass (A4142) if you’re travelling by car.
